Insurance info available online, by phone

If you have questions about how the Health Insurance Marketplace will impact you, the easiest place to find answers is online at healthcare.gov.

If you prefer to talk through your options with a real person, you can call the federal call centers at (800) 318-2596.

But be warned, neither the online tool nor the person on the other end of the phone can tell you how much your insurance coverage might cost … yet. That won’t be clear until Oct. 1.

What you can determine now is whether you and your family are likely to be eligible for Medicaid or for tax credits, or whether your business might be eligible for the Small Business Health Options Program.
