Thursday letters: Richland 2 has heart, soul

September 12, 2013

— In the Sept. 4 article about Richland 2 Superintendent Debbie Hamm (“Support builds for interim leader”), state Rep. Mia McLeod came off as very insensitive to the culture of the school district.

Richland 2 has a heart and soul that is central to its greatness. The dedication and level of commitment of most of its teachers and administrators is beyond compare in our nation. Debbie Hamm brings this heart back to the district vacated by the venerable Steve Hefner. I am happy that our board finally decided to help Katie Brochu find a new box to think outside of.
