Jim Furyk battled for a 2-under 69 on Saturday and is now one shot clear of the field after three rounds of the BMW Championship.
Coming off the sixth 59 in PGA Tour history, Furyk ended 54 holes at 13-under- par 200.
Furyk, the 2009 runner-up, will go for his 17th PGA Tour title on Sunday.
Steve Stricker rallied into contention with a 7-under 64. He jumped into second place at minus-12 at Conway Farms. Brandt Snedeker, who shared the second-round lead with Furyk, managed an even-par 71. Snedeker is alone in third at 11-under 202.
Zach Johnson carded a 2-under 69 on Saturday and is by himself in fourth at minus-10.
Tiger Woods, a five-time winner of this event, birdied six of seven holes from the sixth en route to a 5-under 66. He stands alone in fifth at 9-under 204.
Defending champion Rory McIlroy closed with an eagle for a 3-under 68. However, he is in 68th place at 10-over 223.
