Bluff Road house burns to ground Saturday morning

September 14, 2013

— A house on Bluff Road is a complete loss after a Saturday morning fire, according to the Columbia Fire Department.

The department received a call about a house fire at 6435 Bluff Road around 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The house, roughly 2,500 to 3,000 square feet, is a complete loss, said Brick Lewis, spokesman for the fire department.

No one was reported home, but three people are displaced, Lewis said.

The Richland County Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate the fire, Lewis said.

The damages were estimated at about $275,000, including a car that was in the garage and the value of items in the home, Lewis said.
