Michael Anthony Still

— A Gaston man was charged Monday with beating a 3-year-old, breaking his hip and causing a seizure.

Michael Anthony Still, 53, was charged with inflicting great bodily harm upon a child. That’s a felony that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Deputies say Still used his hands Sunday to punch the young boy several times, breaking the boy’s hip and causing a seizure. He also suffered severe bruises and swelling on his face, upper torso and lower torso. He was taken to Children’s Hospital at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital for treatment. At the time of the assault, Still was alone at a Gaston home with the boy and was responsible for his well-being.
