Wanted: Volunteers for United Way’s Day of Action Friday in Columbia

The United Way of the Midlands’ next Day of Action is Friday.

Throughout the day volunteers will take part in service projects at more than 35 sites, including the Boys & Girls Club, Keep the Midlands Beautiful, American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity.

More than 350 volunteers have signed up to participate, but the United Way is seeking an additional 200 volunteers.

Other projects that need assistance that day include Sistercare, Palmetto Conservation Foundation and Mental Illness Recovery Center.
