Wednesday letters: Richland County needs change too

September 18, 2013

— I don’t know about Steve Benjamin for mayor, but he has it right about the need to change Columbia’s form of government. He is right when he says you can’t have five or six mayors running the government. When things go bad, who is at fault?

While on the subject, how about Richland County? Since the number of council members was raised to 11, we have had 11 mayors. Can you count the blunders, mistakes and questionable doings of this crowd? There are too many to list. Our grandchildren will be paying for years to come. There is not a member of this council who could win a countywide race.

Benjamin will get his form of government, and I thank him for having the guts to buck the system.

Now, how about Richland? Please, please send us some leadership for change.
