Arson suspect sought after early morning West Columbia fire

WEST COLUMBIA, SC A Springdale police officer became a pinch-hitting firefighter early Tuesday morning when he responded to a burglary alarm at the Forestbrook Apartments on Shadblow Lane in West Columbia. He found the front of the #11 building on fire, Springdale police chief Kevin Cornett said in a release.

The officer put the flames out with his portable fire extinguisher and determined that the fire had been started outside the door of one of the apartments. No one was hurt in the fire. After further investigation and the execution of a search warrant Thursday, authorities asked for the public’s help in locating 33 year old Terrence Parr who is wanted on the charge of arson 3rd degree.
