Fowler wins by 3 in France

Peter Fowler fired a 6-under 66 on Sunday to come from behind and win the French Riviera Masters.

Fowler, who claimed his third career win on the European Senior Tour, finished the tournament at 11-under-par 205.

Fowler entered the final round four strokes behind overnight leader Andrew Oldcorn, but was able to make that deficit up in just six holes as Oldcorn bogeyed three of his first five holes.

Fowler picked up shots at the fourth and sixth to meet Oldcorn at 6-under, and then continued to birdie the seventh and eighth to claim the lead for good.

Oldcorn, meanwhile, tripped to a double bogey at the eighth to fall well off the pace and could not rally to catch Fowler as they both posted a pair of birdies and seven pars over their inward nine.

Oldcorn would eventually post a 1-over 73 during his final round at Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort to finish in a tie for second place with Santiago Luna (66) at 8-under 208.

Katsuyoshi Tomori carded the low round of the day with a 7-under 65 to jump into sole possession of fourth at 7-under 209.
