PHOTO GALLERY: Columbia City Hall gets sparkling new face

September 22, 2013

Columbia City Council is likely to return Oct. 1 to a council chamber refurbished to the tune of $784,000. The spacious chamber, on the third floor of Main Street’s City Hall, has been upgraded in keeping with its history.

The renovation includes replastered and repainted walls, renewed and reupholstered benches, opening of six round windows that had been covered and a high-end sound and video system.

Its most striking change is the large, glass skylight in the center of the room that for years had been hidden behind two dropped ceilings.
