— A 45-year-old Berkeley County man was found dead in a crash Tuesday night on Interstate 77.

Albert G. Ham, of Ham Road, Jamestown, was identified Wednesday by Richland County Coroner Gary Watts.

The crash happened shortly after 9 p.m. on northbound I-77 at the 12 mile marker near Forest Drive. Ham, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was driving a 2004 Ford truck pulling a trailer on I-77 when it left the roadway on the right-hand side, hit a ditch and overturned, according to Lance Cpl. Judd Jones with the SCHP. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy conducted Wednesday morning did not show a definitive cause of death, Watts said, and additional tests are needed to determine whether the death was related to the collision or a medical event prior to the crash.
