Teen charged in vehicle break-in near Irmo

— A Columbia teenager has been charged in a Thursday night vehicle break-in near Irmo.

Christian Stephen Windom, 19, faces charges of breaking into a motor vehicle and tampering with a motor vehicle. Both vehicles were parked at homes on Ripley Station Road.

Shortly before midnight Thursday, deputies responded to a call about a vehicle break-in in process, according to a news release from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. Witnesses provided a description of the suspect.

Deputies saw Windom walking near the intersection of Cannondale Road and Cannondale Court, carrying a bag used to carry a laptop computer. It contained an Acer laptop worth $500 that had been reported stolen.
