Lexington man in truck hit by train, killed, early Sunday

A Lexington County man was killed early Sunday when his truck was hit by a train.

Robin Neal Quarles, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 2:09 a.m. accident, involving a Norfolk & Southern train, occurred at Smith Pond Road and Two Notch Road in Lexington.

The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, according to a midday news release issued by Coroner Harry Harman.
