Brothers arrested in killing of Orangeburg businessman

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC Two brothers were accused Monday of the Sept. 23 murder of Orangeburg businessman Richard Carter.

Leroy Glover, 25 and Jason Glover, 23, are charged with killing Carter, whose body was found in a burnt car in the Santee area.

Carter, 61, was “the victim of cowards and thugs,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said

Leroy Glover rented a mobile home from Carter in Orangeburg that was set on fire before discovery of the murder, Ravenell said.

Both brothers shot Carter, with Leroy Glover setting the mobile home on fire, authorities said.

Carter was a loan officer with AgSouth.
