Two women charged in meth lab bust near Pelion

— Two women were arrested Tuesday, charged with operating a methamphetamine lab at a home near Pelion.

Jessica Nicole Ellison, 31, of West Columbia was charged with possessing meth. Mindy Angela Proctor, 28, of Pelion was charged with manufacturing meth.

At about 1:51 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, deputies detected a strong chemical odor coming from Proctor’s home. Deputies found a device used in manufacturing meth inside a garbage can, as well as methamphetamine.
