MYRTLE BEACH — More than 45 employers with jobs available are to be at a Hiring Our Heroes event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
The jobs will be open to veterans and military spouses of all ranks and levels of experience, according to information from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The companies present will range from Americas biggest employers to dozens of small companies from the region.
The event is to included a free Hiring Our Heroes employment workshop that will offer one-on-one mentoring sessions on resume building, job search tools and interviewing techniques.
Interested job seekers are encouraged to register at hoh.greatjob.net. Walk-ins are OK the day of the event, but veterans will have to provide proof of military service.
Since Hiring Our Heroes events began in 2011, 1,200 companies have hired 20,200 veterans and military spouses.
The University of Phoenix is the lead sponsor.
The event is being held in partnership with the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, Office of the mayor of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Works, The American Legion, the Dept. of Labor Veterans Employment and Training Service, the S.C. Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.
