Tuesday letters: Show support for closing store

October 11, 2013

I enjoyed Janet Harley’s Oct. 2 letter (“Closing grocery store a mistake”) regarding the closing of the Piggly Wiggly on U.S. 1 near the Barnyard Flea Market. I have a suggestion: Everybody who has shopped at the Pig should find out the last day it will be open and gather in the parking lot for a massive show to Bi-Lo about this decision.

The people were friendly, helpful and courteous. People with those attributes are hard to find these days, and I guess Bi-Lo will find this out once all the employees at the Pig have to find jobs elsewhere. Good-bye, Pig. You served us well.
