At Lexington, Ky., USC freshman keeper Marco Velez had six saves in posting the clean sheet as the Gamecocks (4-5-3, 1-1-1 Conference USA) played Kentucky (3-6-1, 1-1-1) to a scoreless overtime draw. Kentucky outshot the Gamecocks 28-11. ... At Raleigh, N.C., the Clemson women’s team (7-4-3, 4-3-1 ACC) topped N.C. State (6-9, 1-8), 1-0. Senior Tabitha Padgett scored the winner on a penalty kick.

No. 15 Kentucky (13-4, 5-1 in the SEC) stopped USC (10-8, 2-4), 3-0. Set scores were 25-13, 25-22, 25-23. Juliette Thevenin had a team-high nine kills and six digs. Darian Dozier had eight kills.

At Chapel Hill, N.C., Clemson’s Ashlan Ramsey was medalist at the Tar Heel Invitational with a 9-under 207. South Carolina and Clemson each finished tied for fifth in the 18-team invite. The teams shot 14-over 878. No. 4 Duke won the team title at 7-under 858. Justine Dreher lead USC by finishing seventh at 2-under 214.
