Monday letters: Obama, allies the ones to blame

October 14, 2013

Why is the news media afraid to admit who caused the U.S. government shutdown? Most anyone who has followed the Affordable Care Act from its beginning knows the ones responsible are the president and his allies in Congress who forced the act upon the American people. After all, from the outset, most Americans were against the plan.

Although I often disagree with the speaker of the House, it was time for someone to stand up to a president who cares nothing about the nation’s debt and has an attitude of “my way, or no way.” Even now, it is costing the American taxpayers millions of dollars to just get the plan implemented and people enrolled.

When tax time comes around, I hope those who backed the Affordable Care Act will remember that they caused the cost of running the federal government to rise.
