Your cat may act as if every day is National Cat Day, but it turns out Tuesday is the real deal.
Started by animal welfare advocate Colleen Paige in 2005, National Cat Day aims to encourage the adoption of shelter cats and to recognize all that our feline companions do for us.
There are plenty of ways to celebrate: adopt a cat from your local shelter, volunteer at an animal welfare organization, or pamper your current feline friends with their favorite treats and toys.
And if you think your pet is the cat’s pajamas, send us a photo at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll post our favorites here.
