Shooting at Two Notch Road, Hughes Street injures one

— A Friday afternoon shooting at the corner of Two Notch Road and Hughes Street left one person injured and another running.

Two men were arguing and one shot the other, said Jennifer Timmons, Columbia Police Department spokeswoman.

The victim is at a hospital and his condition is unknown.

The suspect was last seen running east on Hughes Street

The shooting happened on the heels of a press conference held by Columbia Police Chief Ruben Santiago about violent crime. He said already there had been 63 attempted murders in the city this year, and 56 involved guns.
