Matt Colburn was unstoppable Friday night at Dutch Fork Stadium.

Colburn rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries in the first seven minutes of the Silver Foxes’ 62-14 romp against White Knoll.

Colburn, who was done for the night well before halftime, had 167 yards and three TDs on 15 carries for Dutch Fork (7-2, 3-0 Region 5-4A).

“He’s a difference-maker,” Dutch Fork coach Tom Knotts said of Colburn. “He makes us a great team.”

Dutch Fork rolled up 336 yards rushing. Quarterback Derek Olenchuk was 12-for-16, passing for 182 yards and four TDs.

White Knoll (6-3, 1-2) didn’t help its cause in the first half, giving up possessions with a bungled punt, a 10-yard punt, two interceptions and a fumble.

“Right now, our backs are against the wall,” White Knoll coach Dean Howell said. “It’s all about the playoffs, and we’ve got to have two wins. Opportunities are still there. It’s not like the season’s over.”

Friday night’s game was over shortly after it kicked off.

Colburn fired the opening drive with long runs before Olenchuk hit K.J. Williams for a 17-yard touchdown pass. Colburn then finished off two short drives with runs of 25 and 26 yards to put Dutch Fork up 21-0.

Olenchuk hit Deion Frasier for his second TD pass on the night, an 11-yarder that capped a 27-point first quarter.

Colburn’s 5-yard run and two Marcus Spearman scores in the second quarter put the Silver Foxes up 48-0 with more than four minutes left before the half.

White Knoll’s only score of the first half came on Craig Blakey’s 12-yard run at the 1:10 mark of the second quarter.

Dutch Fork scored twice more in the second half, when Olenchuk connected with Daniel Jurgenson for an 18-yard TD pass and with Frasier for a 66-yard catch-and-run.

White Knoll’s E’Mond Brown ran in from 25 yards out to close the scoring.

“We’re still in the upper echelon in this state,” Knotts said. “I think we’ve been marked off. We’re not even in the top 10, and that angers me and that angers this team. We’re on a mission. We’re out to prove we’re a pretty good football team.”
