— Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after reports of shots fired early Sunday morning near a Broad River Road-area night club.

Deputies responded to the 2900 block of Broad River Road to calls about shots being fired, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

While people were leaving the Exclusive club, a male and female were arguing across the street. The fight became physical, and another male attempted to intervene, deputies reported.

The male who was assaulting the female, according to deputies, pulled out a gun and fired shots.

The Sheriff’s Department asked hospitals to report any gunshot injuries, authorities said. So far, there have been none.

The case is under investigation. No arrests have been made.
