— An abandoned box of magnets led to road closures and a campus-wide alert at the University of South Carolina on Friday morning.

When USC police were alerted to the suspicious package at Sumter and Greene streets, the campus was alerted to avoid the area.

Shortly before noon on Friday, the police said the situation was all clear. It was just a box of magnets that had been dropped accidentally.
