Lexington County boy run over by tractor trailer, killed

November 5, 2013

— A 10-year-old Pelion boy was struck and killed Monday night around 8:30 p.m. by a tractor-trailer backing up at his house. The boy was identified as Bradley Jeffcoat, of Becca Lane in Pelion, by Lexington County coroner Harry Harman.

The boy was struck after the driver of the tractor-trailer lost visual contact with him, Harman said. The child was taken to Lexington Memorial hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The coroner’s office and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department are investigating.
