“Making It Grow!” at the Sumter Opera House: ETV’s program, “Making It Grow!” will celebrate its 20th anniversary by visiting the Sumter Opera House on Saturday at 21 N. Main St. in Sumter. Host Amanda McNulty from Clemson Cooperative Extension, as well as master gardeners and agricultural experts, will take questions from the audience. Music will be provided by Dulcimer Dan, writer and performer of the show’s theme music. The show begins at 3 p.m. with a meet and greet at 4 p.m. The event is free but attendees must make reservations by calling (803) 436-2616 or emailing kjeffcoat@sumter-sc.com.

Historic Columbia Foundation Second Sunday Stroll: The Historic Columbia Foundation will host a Second Sunday Stroll of Old Shandon at 2 p.m. Sunday, beginning at the Richland Library Wheatley Branch, 931 Woodrow St. The tour is free for foundation members, $8 for nonmember adults and $5 for nonmember youth age 17 and younger. Build Your Own Rain Barrel Workshop: 8:45 a.m.-noon Nov. 18 at the Cayce City Hall Municipal Complex, 1800 12th St. Representatives from Cayce and Lexington County stormwater departments will provide information about stormwater runoff, water pollution and rainwater harvesting, after which Lexington County Stormwater Consortium members will assist participants with building their own rain barrels.
