SCHOOLS

LEXINGTON HIGH SCHOOL students Ashley Fellers and Annie Hu won first place in the Jeopardy Team Competition and the Group Problem Solving Competition at the Mathematics and Science Day for High School Girls at Columbia College. Hu also won the written competition.

SALUDA RIVER ACADEMY FOR THE ARTS has received a $6,510 grant from the S.C. Arts Commission for the 2013-2014 school year. The grant will allow the school to fund four artists-in-residence.

YOUTH

ANSLEY ROBERTSON and her horse, Mardi Gras, took top honors at the Progressive Show Jumping Junior Medal Finals in Aiken. She is a student at Gilbert High School.

MILITARY

RAHEEM L. PETERSON has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson. He is the son of Zowie and Tracey Ervin of Hopkins.

AIR FORCE AIRMAN 1ST CLASS WYNTON R. MATTISON has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Gregory Mattison of Irmo.

AIR FORCE AIRMAN ASHLEY O. THOMAS has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of Easter Thomas of Columbia.

AIR FORCE RESERVE AIRMAN 1ST CLASS LETICIA S. PATTERSON has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of Lillie Duncan of Columbia.

AIR FORCE AIRMAN LORENZO R. SINGLETON has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Latarisha and Nathaniel Singleton of Gaston.

AIR FORCE RESERVE AIRMAN VICTORIA S. CALDWELL has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of Connie Sapp of Columbia.

AIR FORCE AIRMAN TRAVIS A. BURTON has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Patricia Burton of Columbia.

ARMY RESERVE PFC. TYLER MCDONALD has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson. He is the son of Leroy McDonald of Columbia.
