Coroner releases names of two killed in separate Lexington County road crashes

— UPDATED: Lexington County Coroner Harry O. Harman has released the names of individuals killed in separate crashes in Lexington County over the weekend.

Nelson E. Gutierrez, 35, of Miami, Florida, was struck and killed by a Chevrolet Tahoe that entered the construction zone in which he was working on I-26 eastbound at the 111 mile marker.

According to the coroner, Gutierrez was taken to Lexington Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

The second incident, on Edmund Highway in Pelion, S.C., happened around 11:25 p.m. Sunday and involved only one vehicle.

Harry M. Parker III, 42, of Lexington, was ejected from the pickup he was driving after losing control.

Parker, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported to Palmetto Health Richland where he died from his injuries.

Both incidents are under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
