Flag found burning in SC school building

November 11, 2013

— Authorities say someone broke into a school in Anderson over the weekend, setting an American flag on fire and trashing the place.

Police tell the Independent-Mail of Anderson that firefighters responded to the Anderson School District 5 career center early Sunday.

They found a flag on fire in the lobby, half-melted trash cans and food including flats of eggs strewn through a classroom.

About 15 firefighters responded. Police are investigating the incident that caused nearly $15,000 worth of damage.
