Four died on SC roads over weekend, total count still lower than last year

— Four people died on South Carolina roads this weekend, but the total of deaths on state roads this year is less than the same time period last year.

Overall there have been 645 deaths on South Carolina highways up until Nov. 11, according to the South Carolina Department of Public Safety. There were 733 deaths during the same time period in 2012.

Richland County has had 54 highway deaths compared to 46 for the same period last year.

Lexington County has had 33 highway deaths compared to 43 for the same time in 2012.
