Purse-carrying man steals $107 worth of bath products

November 18, 2013

A man carrying a purse stole $107 in Dove soap and Vaseline from a Rock Hill Family Dollar store, according to a police report.

Just before 8 p.m. Sunday, the man shoved 28 bath products into a black handbag and then left without paying for the merchandise. A manager followed the man across the parking lot toward a nearby gas station but lost sight of him, the report states.

The manager of the Heckle Boulevard store told police the thief is a "frequent" visitor to the shop. She said she's familiar with him because he has stolen items from several other Family Dollar stores recently.
