BUZZ: DNR official has jokes

— The Department of Natural Resources has been working for months on a new online licensing system. When they flipped the switch on the new system, things went remarkably well.

So well that Don Winslow, deputy director for outreach and support services, was in a joking mood at Thursday's DNR Board meeting.

"We sold 101 licenses that first day, and signed three people up for Obamacare," he said, eliciting loud laughs from the board members.

That 101 licenses was on Sunday, when they flipped the switch a day earlier than planned. DNR sold 729 licenses on Monday, the first day they had publicized the online sales.
