Big chill headed toward Midlands

— Temperatures in the Midlands began a slide toward downright chilly around midday Saturday and are not expected to reach 50 again until Wednesday.

Overnight Saturday, temperatures were expected to dip into the mid-30s after a high of 67 during the day, according to the National Weather Service.

Sunday through Tuesday, temperatures are not expected to climb out of the 40s during the day.

For Sunday, the outlook is sunny and brisk, with a highs in the mid-40s. Lows Sunday night could reach into the lower 20s.

Monday, the high again will be only around the mid-40s. The low? Back into the mid-30s.
