VIDEO & PHOTOS: Midlands teams dominate state cheerleading competition

— In their first year of competition, the squad from the Midlands’ new River Bluff High School won the Class 3A division of the state cheerleading championships on Saturday.

Longtime champion Chapin High placed second.

Midlands schools dominated in the competition that’s part pep squad, part aerial act.

Lexington High won the Class 4A competition. Mauldin High was runner-up.

Chesnee won the Class 2A category. Mid-Carolina was runner-up.
