Man drowns in Lake Carolina

A man drowned Saturday on Lake Carolina after his boat overturned shortly before noon.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the man as Clyde Williams, 43, of Deer Harbour Court, Columbia. Watts said his body was found after people saw his overturned boat.

An autopsy Sunday found Williams died as a result of asphyxiation due to drowning, Watts said.
