Holiday lights a-twinkle: Columbia area light displays

November 30, 2013

This weekend is opening weekend for Saluda Shoals Park Holiday Lights on the River, which features more than 400 themed, animated light displays on a 2-mile drive-through loop of the park. The park is at 5605 Bush River Road and is open 6-10 p.m. through Dec. 31.

For more lights, visit Riverbanks Zoo and Botanical Gardens, open from 5-9 p.m. through Dec. 30 (closed Dec. 24 and 25). Or you can go to Swan Lake-Iris Gardens in Sumter for the Fantasy of Lights, featuring more than a million lights and 150 lighted figures – and it’s free.

On Sunday, North Columbia’s 30 neighborhoods will host a craft and gift sale and holiday performances, beginning at 2 p.m., and the lighting of the Christmas tree, beginning at 5:30 p.m. At North Main Street and Monticello Drive
