Gov. Nikki Haley is asking South Carolinians to perform a random act of kindness during this holiday season.

“If every family in South Carolina commits to doing this, we would have 5 million kind acts across our state. How special would that be?” she said in a statement released Tuesday.

Haley asked people to share their stories on her Facebook page or her Twitter feed with the hashtag -- #SCChristmasChallenge.
