Deputies release video of suspects wanted for armed robbery

— Richland County deputies are searching for a man who entered a Columbia business and assaulted a clerk.

Just before 8 p.m. Tuesday, a black male entered Tripps Fine Cleaners, 1339 Broad River Road, and assaulted the clerk by striking him in the upper body with a pistol, said Sgt. Curtis Wilson, spokesman at the Richland County Sheriff’s department.

The clerk was taken to a hospital for treatment, Wilson said. His condition was not known.

Sheriff Leon Lott said the suspect was captured on video surveillance inside the business.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and around 180 pounds. He was wearing all black clothing with a navy blue sweatshirt with white lettering, possibly a black stocking covering his face and gloves
