Coroner identifies driver killed in head-on crash with tractor-trailer

— The Lexington County Coroner's office has identified the 25-year-old West Columbia woman who died Tuesday following a head-on collision with an 18-wheeler near Cayce.

Amanda Ginsburg was driving a 2003 Saturn four-door station shortly before 3 p.m. Monday north along 12th Street Extension near Cayce, according to Lance Cpl. David Jones with the S.C. Highway Patrol, when she crossed the center line and hit the truck head-on.

Ginsburg, who was wearing her seatbelt, was transported to Palmetto Health Richland, where she died on Tuesday.

The Freightliner truck was driven by William Hale, 55, of Charlotte.

The crash is still under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner's Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol.
