Thursday letters: Students served veterans well

December 5, 2013

Chapin should be proud of its high school students. On Nov. 13, they hosted a breakfast for veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. Students in the ROTC lined up to welcome and escort all vets as they entered the school cafeteria. Most of these students had been up since 5 a.m. preparing for this event and putting together a delicious breakfast.

It was so rewarding to see so many of our young people making such an effort for us vets. These students gave me hope for the future. They make me grateful to be a citizen of the Chapin community. Kudos to all of these young people.
