BUZZ: U.S. Rep. Barbara Lee to speak in Columbia on Saturday

— U.S. Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Cal., is the scheduled keynote speaker for the Democratic Women's Council's Fall Forum in Columbia on Saturday.

The event is scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the The Clarion Hotel on Gervais Street.

Other scheduled speakers include U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn, former U.S. Rep. Liz Patterson, Manning Mayor Julie Nelson, S.C. Rep. Bakari Sellers, D-Bamberg, Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin, 12-year-old N.C. election integrity activist Madison Kimrey and Jason Smith, director of the documentary "I Voted?"

In addition, the group plans to induct the late Peatsy Hollings, wife of former U.S. Sen. Fritz Hollings, into the South Carolina Democratic Women's Council's Hall of Fame.
