Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia and Lexington County’s Thompson Funeral Homes have merged to create Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, located on Leesburg Road, will continue to offer funeral services, on-site crematory and memorialization options.

“We understand how important it is to have choices when planning a funeral or memorial service,” Thompson managing director Jeffrey Temples said in a release.

In addition to Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Thompson Funeral Homes has locations in Lexington and West Columbia.

Greenlawn Memorial Park was established in 1937. The pond at the center of the memorial park serves as a focal point for its annual interdenominational Easter Sunrise Service, which has been a Greenlawn tradition for more than 50 years.

Thompson Funeral Home was founded in 1928. J.R. “Buddy” Thompson started the business to serve the families of Cayce, West Columbia and Columbia.
