Richland County brawl Sunday sends three to hospital

— A brawl on Percival Road just north of Columbia early Sunday morning sent three people to the hospital, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

The “large fight” around 4 a.m. involved numerous people, sheriff’s spokesman Curtis Wilson said.

Shortly afterwards, Wilson said, deputies stopped a car that had apparently been fleeing the scene “at a high rate of speed” and arrested two men.

Cocaine was also found in the car, Wilson said.

The three people who were transported to Palmetto Health Richland hospital emergency room had been. They had been “struck by an object,” Wilson said.

The fight took place at 2409 Percival Road, just north of Fort Jackson.
