Wreaths Across America will take place rain or shine

— Despite some initial worry about the weather, the Wreaths Across America event still will take place at noon on Saturday at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

“Our service men and women have served and are serving us no matter the weather,” said Carol Davis, who organized the local event. “How can we not do the same for them?”

Volunteers who wish to help place wreaths on graves at the cemetery can park at the Blue Cross Blue Shield parking lot on Percival Road, and busses will transport them to the cemetery, Davis said.
