All eyes on A’ja

December 13, 2013

Heathwood Hall’s A’ja Wilson is the country’s top-ranked recruit. The State is following her senior season game-by-game.

Friday: Pinewood Prep

Final: Heathwood Hall 83, Pinewood Prep 34

Wilson scored 36 points. She had 15 rebounds and three blocked shots.

Wilson will wait

Wilson won’t make her final decision until the spring, after she concludes her senior season at Heathwood Hall.

But on Friday, she announced her top four choices — Connecticut, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, according to a tweet from Heathwood. Coach John O’Cain confirmed the tweet in a text message to The State.

Wilson visited UConn and UNC in the fall. The Tar Heels’ coaching staff was in attendance for the first game of her senior season, along with two representatives from Tennessee. Wilson visited USC many times during the fall, and USC has signed letters-of- intent from two friends, Columbia’s Kaydra Duckett and Charlotte’s Jatarie White.
