Temperatures reached record highs in Columbia on Saturday

Temperatures reached 80 degrees Fahrenheit Saturday afternoon and could climb even higher, according to the National Weather Service.

The last record for the date was set at 76 degrees in 1998, said meteorologist Bruce Cherry.
