Orangeburg robbery suspect arrested in Washington, D.C.

— A 20-year-old man has been arrested in Washington, D.C., and charged with an October armed robbery in Orangeburg County.

Calvon Reginald Steven Brown is charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime, according to Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell.

Brown is accused of using a knife to steal money, a cell phone and an ATM card from an 18-year-old shortly before 11 p.m. Oct. 6. Ravenell said Brown was seen on video surveillance at a convenience store near the location of the attack. He was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

According to an Orangeburg County Sheriff's Department press release, the incident took place on Russell Street and the victim has identified Brown in an lineup.
