June 2: Two married dentists who run an orthodontics practice in Lake Murray are on the next season of "The Amazing Race."
Dr. Jim Raman and his wife, Dr. Misti Raman, who head the Raman Orthodontics practice on Lake Murray Boulevard, were revealed as one of the 11 pairs competing in the CBS reality adventure series.
The Ramans live in Irmo and are raising their two young children, Lexie and Jimmy.
The pair are among the contestants who kicked off their adventure Saturday in Times Square. The 25th season of "The Amazing Race" airs in the fall.
April 22: Stephen Colbert, a native of Charleston, will be the next host of "The Late Show," succeeding David Letterman in 2015. He visits with Letterman on Tuesday, April 22. Meanwhile, a rare wolf cub found in a South Carolina wildlife refuge has been named Colbert.
April 3: The criticism over paternity leave -- sparked by Mets second baseman Daniel Murphy taking off three days at the beginning of the season after the birth of his son, has provoked former WIS anchor Craig Melvin to write an essay.

March 20: Recognize this actor? Mike Colter is a regular guest star on "The Good Wife" as drug lord Leonard Bishop, and has been in "American Horror Story" and "The Following." He's also a Columbia native and a graduate of USC. He was on campus March 20 to speak to USC students about acting.
March 12: Pro golfer and South Carolina resident Dustin Johnson is among the celebrities joining NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin and fellow golfers Nancy Lopez, Jim Furyk and John Daly in the 20th Hootie & the Blowfish Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am in Myrtle Beach. March 12: Columbia native Josh Lieb is settling into his new role as producer of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." Lieb attended Forest Lake Elementary and Heathwood Hall, and still has family in the Columbia area. After serving as a writer on "The Simpsons" and "News Radio," Lieb became producer of "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart, generating some memorable segments on South Carolina in the process, including "Thank You South Carolina."
March 11: Former WIS anchor Craig Melvin is a new dad. He posted a photo of his son on Twitter Monday evening. " My son already looks at me like, 'really, dad. really?" Delano Joseph Melvin was born Monday morning. Melvin now is an anchor on MSNBC, and his wife, Linsday Czarniak, works at ESPN.

Feb. 3: Former Gamecock Sidney Rice comes to the rescue of actress Lindsay Lohan, who lost her $75,000 fur coat in a New York nightclub, TMZ reports.
