Teenagers arrested after car chase in Anderson

December 26, 2013

— Two 16-year-old boys are in custody after leading police on a chase in Anderson this morning.

Police were sent to a home on Hardin Road after a family thought their house was broken into, according to Anderson police.

Police later learned they were not burglars, but friends the daughter had let in.

The two teenagers, that were suspected burglars, took off in a vehicle and police and the South Carolina Highway Patrol chased them.

The driver over-corrected and crashed the car near S.C. 81 and Interstate 85.

One of the boys was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The car the boys were in was reported stolen last night.

Both teenagers have been arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

More charges may follow from the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
