One shot outside Columbia-area restaurant Monday

— The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an early morning shooting outside a Columbia-area restaurant Monday.

Deputies say two groups of people got into an argument outside of Mobay Caribbean Restaurant Bar & Grill on Parklane Road about 2 a.m. Monday.

At some point during the altercation, both groups of people fired shots, and one person was hit in the upper body.

Richland County Sheriff’s Department Spokesman Sgt. Curtis Wilson said the unknown victim was taken to the hospital, and their condition is currently unknown.

Deputies continue to investigate the shooting.
